No Sweat

If you've read this blog or listened to the CD, you know that I believe "another world is whispering still". No Sweat Apparel is one of the sponsors of 5N2, and has a creative, fair-trade, solution that promotes peace and echoes the dreams and words of Jesus.

No Sweat Apparel’s organic cotton T-shirts are produced at a sweatshop-free Palestinian owned factory on Virgin Mary Street in Bethlehem. Here’s a link to an al Jazeera segment about the project.

The Jewish, Israeli and US mainstream press has been just as positive. Apparently No Sweat has found an elusive piece of common ground-more good jobs for Palestinians in Palestine will help the situation. While economic development is no substitute for a diplomatic settlement, no settlement can survive without a sustainable Palestinian economy. So, while waiting for a diplomatic resolution, No Sweat created a mechanism for ordinary citizens of good faith to build good will on the ground and support the peace to come. The concept behind the t-shirts is simple. When faced with an apparently irresolvable conflict, if there is any one thing all parties agree on-do that one thing and see what happens.

“We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality; tied in a single garment of destiny.”

Dr. Martin Luther King

Watch the video, it's cool.

Love the graphic. Ethan, I'm about to give your link to a gal who says you were pretty special to her and her family...her name is Libby Kleeman-Jordan. How cool is that? She recognized your mug from my blog post.

I'm off to link you (again!).

So...I was reading a friend of mine's blog and saw an interesting comment from a lady named Stacey. I've been reading her blog for about a week or two...and then I see this picture of some dude who was like one of my brother's closest friends growing up! Picture me like, TOTALLY freaking out! (That was a picture of you dude!)

Hey Eeeeee!! It's me, Libby Kleeman (Andy's sister). I'm now married to Michael Jordan. Okay, not the one from Chicago...but he's just as cool in his own unique way. He goes by Curt to help eliminate some of the confusion people may have when they see a white Michael Jordan!! Smile! We live in St. Joe, MO. I guess I didn't realize just how close you guys are! Too cool!!

So I'm taking it from your blog that you've been to Israel?? Cool...that's where I met my hubby...on our church's tour of Israel in 2005. TOTALLY cool, yet long story. I'll tell ya sometime if you'd like!

Well, please tell your parents and sis I said hi! If you want you can read my blog www.xanga.com/libzsonshine - if you go back a ways you can see pics of Israel from 2006 when hubby & I returned for part of our honeymoon!

Big hugs! So cool to connect again!
